Shopping Cart optimizing  en

Hi Incomedia!

I think the shopping part of x5 is still a very poor feature. I think you should begin thinking in other ways of making the online shopping. Introduce databases, more settings, and let people have a CMS online, so we can choose if we want to edit or projects in the software, or online when it comes to the Webshop. Atm. the webshop is not worth the time, and reminds me of a early prototype I easyli could programm myself.

Moreover I think you should look at a freeware like "Prestashop" - I don't like the idéa of freeware, but when it comes to the shopping part, Prestashop almost got everything you could dream about. Features like: Backend Amount control - color sorting - staying on the shopping page instead of leaving when adding products - additional currencies - costumer login - automatically generated pdfs - and many other fancy features. Im sorry if im being too harsh at the x5 software, but the shopping part is just not good enough at theese days.

If you would just concider my request, it would make me very happy. I don't want to use any other software than x5, and I would like x5 to become the best in the world.

Sincerely

Henrik

Yes it is a pity that Evo 9 is small in the shopping department. I too feel they have a wonderful editing package but the cart side is so basic it excludes even the apparel shop from using it. I have noted even the T shirt demo site of this software found no way around the problem and one can see it fizzles out when it comes to the options. I asked them to have two option drop down lists i.e. one for Colour and one for size but it seems to be beyond them technically. We have managed to find some XML code to do the trick, still keeping there cart whilst incorporating a cart that will do both order and Paypal. In our search we have come across much of the same stuff from many software suppliers, not even some of the carts have the option i.e. Presta shop.

Alas we have had our blurt which has fallen on the deaf ears of Incomedia with no feedback on this idea - I get the feeling no one bothers to read ideas!

Hi!

We do love to read each and every idea you post and we pass them on to our technical team but we don't usually add an answer to them unless it is needed of course.

I thank you for your idea, it is of course very useful. I'm sure Incomedia will keep doing their best to improve and update their program but I can not say if or what function will be added or not. Therefore, I can not say ''yes, we'll do it'' because I am not certain about it.

Thank you for understanding  and keep posting! Smile

Samantha,

I think that what you should be doing is listening to the users and add functionality that the users want.  I have said a number of times that we has should have a wish list published and users vote for the ones they want.  These are then scheduled into future releases and the likely timescales published.

As Henrik says there are other sites that offer low cost or free shopping sites.  My host, One and One provides me with a free shop and recently added feature give me more functionality that with WebsiteX5.

All the feedback I have been given is that I should post my comment as an Idea but no one from Incomedia ever tells us if any of the ideas will be scheduled if not, then why not?

Thanks for the feedback Samantha.

I agree with Tony B we should be able to give further input which are the priority ones, vote on them - it is the democratic way. Developers can then concentrate of those which are deemed more meaningful. I do know we all think our ideas are really important - however waiting and hoping, never hearing sort of kills the soul and further inhibits good contributions, raises passions and enforces opions.

A greater collaborative effort on inclusion, priorities and possible release dates would set a benchmark standard. There is a saying, "If you are not reaching higher, then you are stepping lower"

We have added the ''idea'' section in answers because we believe that your suggestions are very important: you use our software therefore your feedback is very precious. Every single one of you can post whenever he needs to, we are delighted to receive your ideas to then consider them for future updates. This does not mean though that what you post will be created and added to WebSite X5 immediately.

We have thousands of clients all over the world and every one of you has different skills and needs: what is true and necessary for a single user is often pointless for others. For this reason, we need to collect all the ideas you post and test themaccordingto a wholerange of issues, not justaccording to the numberof requests.
