Alt tags for shopping cart images  en

I am just wondering, has any progress been made to allow for shopping cart image files to have an ALT tag assigned to them? Either via taking the file name of the JPEG and automatically using it as an ALT tag. Or by allowing us to have a window to open where we can type one for it.

When creating a shopping cart card and adding an image or multiple images, there should be a place right there to add an ALT tag like we can throughout most of the rest of the program.

It would be nice to assign ALT tags to the gallery images too. But the shopping cart images are more important, and more bountiful. Have we taken any steps to create this function for us starving website authors?

Hi Elisa,

ALT tags are a big issue with SEO. Granted not everyone searches by image, probably a small percentage of people do. But any and every SEO advantage a page can have is helpful. Your program has some really nice features for images. And when dropping an image into a cell anywhere, you have a lot of control over it. But when dropping an image into a cart product, you have no control over any of the HTML code.

So seriously, have someone take a strong look at implimenting this feature. In the gallery images too. Many of us have rotating image galleries or groups of related pictures to scroll through. Giving all those pictures ALT tags will be a big boost. But my main concern is the card cart images since I use a ton of them.

I totally agree with John. I rely heavily on good SEO practices on my business websites and ALT tags ARE needed.

I have no idea why incomedia doesn't implement alt tag in galleries - putting description field into html code is very easy, especially programm generates alt tag but it is empty...
