Database issues  en

Hi everyone,

Got a bit of a question that I'm not sure on how to tackle, but I'll strive to explain the situation.

My client's website host apparently had an issue with its database on Jan 10. Up until that point, the website database for their online store had been working fine.

Since the 10th, my client has had a few things happen:

1 - When trying to access the admin page, the page appears in blank with the message "Analytics: Cannot connect to database" on the top left hand corner. This happens intermittently, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes longer, but every single day.

2 - Of the four orders made, three people did not finish their order and pay [though arguably it could be that they had a last minute regret and cancelled the order, but the timing is a bit too on the nose to be a coincidence]

3 - The person that did pay didn't receive their email with the order.

Now, I have tried to contact the host, but they have been unable to help me thus far [they are supposedly escalating it but I'm not holding my breath], citing that there's nothing wrong on their end. I have tried to do a database repair with the host's built-in tool, no dice. I have also tried to reupload the site in its entirety, but still same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can try to either resolve this or at least figure out what's going on?

Thank you!

Hello.

1, 2 - Report this to the technical support of your hosting provider. Also check with them exactly what data you need to use to connect to the database.Recheck them.

3 - Try changing the version of PHP on the hosting. Try 7.4 or 8.0

Try deleting all site files from the hosting and re-uploading it completely.

Use only mail with your domain for sending.

Try different e-mail sending scripts.

Hi Aleksej,

1 - I have reported but thus far they have been very little help,

2 - When you say what kind of data I need, what do you mean? Considering it was working fine up until that point, and I hadn't made any changes, I'm curious as to what might have changed.

3 - The hosting only supports 7.2.6 which is the one being used.

4 - I'll try to do a clean upload as suggested tomorrow.

5 - I'm a bit weary about changing the email settings because in the past that has led to issues of the emails getting really messed up - I'll leave it for a last resort if the rest of the suggestions don't work.

I appreciate your help!
