Is it possible to display the blog over various pages by category?  en

Hello,

I am working on building a website for someone that is looking to merge several websites together.

I was able to create a test page through WordPress that allowed me to display a specific category of post on one page, leaving others hidden, and then hide that same category on another page, highlighting a different category of post.

I have been attempting to replicate this through Website X5 evo for the last hour and cannot find anywhere (even in the forums) that tells me how to select blog posts by category. Is this even possible?

Hello. As far as I know, this is currently not possible.

Hello Paul

It is possible - but if a user know a name of the other categories, then he will be able to show posts for that name, by changing the URL.

The user will always be able to use the URL to the www.yoursite.com/blog, and then see all posts.

But for normal use, you could have posts in one blog, and then make a page where you show posts for category01. Then have another page where you show posts for category02.

You can then not have selections in the blog-sidebar. If you want to have selections it is possible by using the html-object.

As an alternative, you could make subsites. Each subsite could have its own blog.

Subsite suggestion:

You have your "normal" site.

you then make subfolders to that site. In each subfolder you create a project.

Category01, category02 and so on.

IN category01 you make posts for that category. You could then have categories for Category01 - you could say it will be subcategories.

In the "head" project (the project in the root-folder) you make links to each sub-project. Can be made by normal links or if you want to have them in the menu, you could make a level with a link for each subproject.

Instead of links, you could "integrate" the sub-sites in the head-project, by having pages with iframes.

Each page/iframe could show the blog for that subsite = a category.

This is just some ideas. If you could tell some more of how and why you want the categories to be separated, then maybe someone could come up with better suggestions.

Thank you, John S.

I was able to get it sorted as desired with your tips. I know people can always work around that, which is fine. My desire is just to create a more streamlined interface for the user. If they want the information dump, that's their choice.

As a further example, (for anyone else that should stumble on this post and be looking for the answer):

Let's say the overall site deals with tech products- there are some blog posts that offer product reviews, some that offer tips and tricks, and other posts that just deal with technology news.

On the home page would be quick links for accessing those specific categories- whether Reviews, Tips and Tricks or News.

From within the Special Pages: Blog: Article page, I was able to click on the category assignment to individual posts to find what I was looking for.
