Thanks Stefano, one thing that is irritating about customer detail on the shopping cart is the fact that there is no field to capture a customers age. I am working on a site  that sells age restricted products, so I have to fathom out a work around as we do not want people buying products if they are underage. So I need to capture date of birth to pass to what ever gae verification software we decide to go for.

As far as I know, there is no foolproof way to acquire age when filling in a form. The only way to be completely sure that the customer is as old as he declares he is is via a personal document check that some companies do when registering for their services.

Alternatively, simply insert a field where you ask to specify the age and state that you need to be older than a certain age to access.

This will never represent a reliable system though
