What is the meaning of Local-Storage "..._cart_api_cache"?  en

Hello,

I am trying to write the privacy statement for an X5 website.

Because I have integrated a webshop, something called "..._cart_api_cache" is stored in the local storage.

- What is the purpose of this stored data?
- How long are they stored?

Background:

Unfortunately, there seems to be no support from Incomedia for this. Actually, Incomedia would have to explain all (!) possible cookies or LocalStorages so that users can then document those they use. Guys: This will cost you a maximum of two hours of work... and would "legalise" the product. Don't leave your customers out in the cold!

This is also relevant for the cookie consent solutions, because it is not enough to simply set up a consent tool for cookies that require consent. No, one must also be able to describe the purpose of those cookies.

Many customers rightly complain that X5's own cookies are neither explained nor is consent obtained for them. Incomedia: This is your Obligation! Paying customers have the right to error-free software (in this case: the EU Data Protection Regulation or local data protection laws, such as the TTDSG in Germany) must be fulfilled.

P.S. I had to switch off X5's own usage statistics, because the cookies are neither explained, nor can consent be given. Very, very sad!

P.P.S. Otherwise, the software is a lot of fun! Everything works and the shop has also survived the first tests well. Thumbs up!

Hello,

With the cookie-script object into the marketplace you can define everyhing to display this window by example and to explain to the user the usage of each part and to classify these.

Hope this heps

Sorry Axel,

but I can not find the answer to my question: What is the purpose of the LocalStorage "..._cart_api_cache"?

Just by saying "dear user, it is strictly necessary" he is not informed about it.

The GDPR (and TTDSG in Germany) demand much more details.

By the way: I am a professional data protection official ("Datenschutzbeauftragter")... see Article 37 GDPR.

Best regards

   Nicholas

Hello,

I know and understand well your need. I have asked many times some infos regarding GDPR...but answers are always evasive.

You are right, normally Incomedia should be provide a document where all cookies, and technical storage keys are used and why to help us to establish a deeper GDPR rules.

Not only for Germany. it is for all Europeans users. GDPR rules are the same for all.

Hope that you will have an answer.

Enjoy!
Axel

Good afternoon Vollmer

This code is necessary for the cart in order to store information about the products and not have to make new requests for data that was already loaded, thus improving the e-commerce performance

It will last until the current session ends.
