I Have Three Questions ...  en

I have three questions...

1. In version 8 drop down menus automatically wrap the text but this appears to have vanished in v9

2. Am I able to edit the language file to extend the description from Check word in CAPCHA to something more descriptive?

3. I have used the embeded HTML feture to enable jumping to a specific pint (label) within a page. When I import the v8 project this feature no longer works. Is there an HTML5 equivalent?

Many thanks in advance for any help you an offer.

Dave

Hello Dave,

  1. In version 9 we added some new features to the drop down menu such the animated fading. These features do not allow text to wrap in the menu buttons. I suggest you to resize the buttons to make them larger (or use shorter words for the menus, they must be easy to read Wink ).
  2. Yes, you can do it at step 1, where you can choose the site's language. Near that option, there's a small icon. Click it to show the language editor.
  3. In V9 the empty tags are removed. Just add your anchor like this:

    <a name="report_1">&nbsp;</a>

In future release we'll add more compatibility to this feature so the anchors are not removed if empty.

Can you provide me the url of your site? I would like to check the php error shown in the search engine.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for the URL. It seems that the site is quite large and the PHP cannot search in all the pages in less than 30 seconds.

Your server is using a timeout time of 30 seconds for every PHP runtime. It means that if PHP cannot ends it work in 30 seconds, it's stopped by the server and the error you described is shown.

I'll check if is possible to build a workaround for a server like your and we'll include it in one of the future releases.

I'll suggest you to contact your hosting provider and ask them if is possible to get higher limit time for your PHP scripts.

@Laszlo: check if at step 4 -> Main menu the "Effect" option is set to "Fade". If this does not solve your problem, please open a new post.Wink

Thanks Claudio,

Using exactly the same site built with v8 instead of v9 (so no changes apart from importing the v8 site) the search works faultlessly and returns results in a couple of seconds. Seewww.informationdifference.com

Is there perhaps something else which could be causing the problem?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I've checked the code and I've found where the problem is. In your case, you can fix it directly in your site. I see that in some pages you placed some HTML objects which contain some javascript.

Some of those codes, start with a "<SCRIPT>" tag written in capitol letters. Simply use lower chars for tags (written as "<script>") and the problem is gone.

We'll provide a fix for this very soon, of course.

Hi Claudio,

I have used the "Current date" snippet to add the date to my website header. The [NOW] function prints todays date as Tue 04 Oct [yyyy]. Is there some way to change the formatting or correct this such that the year is correctly printed?

Hope you can help.Embarassed

Dave

Hello,

This problem is fixed in the next update.

If you want to fix it right now, just go to step 1 and open the language manager (click on the small icon near the language selection drop down). There, you must change the date format field (called "date_format") from "[D] [dd] [M] [yyyy]" to "[D] [dd] [M] [aaaa]". It will work even after the update.Wink
