1 Year Licence appears to be more than original software cost?  en

There were a few updates that with most software would be included anyway, but my latest price just to continue with a licence is actually dearer than when I purchased the software last year.  This is not my first purchase but hate to think how much the software has cost over the years.

A new licence which basically will give me a few updates should never be this expensive.

Times are hard for everyone but £100+ just for an updates licence is taking the mickey really. £40 or £50 would have been more reasonable and within reach. Very disappointed as been paying out for websitex for many years.

The WebSite X5 program can be used for many years, only there are no more updates after 1 year.

Hi there,

as Daniel mentioned, the program stays active forever, but the licence does expire after one year after its activation date. Until then, you will be able to keep receiving all the updates and new versions we release, and you have access to 12 months of included hosting too. You will then have the possibility to choose if you want to extend the licence or not: if you do, you will be able to keep receiving updates for a further year with a 50% discount. Still, you can also decide not to extend it. If your licence isn't active, you can keep working with the version you own, but unfortunately you won't be able to receive any updates or new versions. You can also decide whether to extend the hosting service.

You can check out all the possible extension by clicking on "See other renewal solutions" here.

Thanks! Kind regards.

Disagree completely!
I have also paid for the updates for years, but never had a good working program, there is always something. So if I stop renewing now I can use this version, but I'm still left with the current bugs.

It is only fair if Icomedia delivers a properly working version without bugs, after which you can decide whether or not to update.

For this reason I have decided to stop renewing for once and will continue to follow this forum, and maybe renew again when we really listen to the customers. (for example, Ideal integration and multiple functions that have been requested for years instead of, for example, a new malfunctioning file viewer that no one has asked for.

I bought the Evo 13 cheaply 4 years ago and used it to maintain my brother's website.

Now I switched to Evo 2022 (currently 2022.2.9) and converted the old website. There were a few problems, but I've been able to fix them all.

A redesign may be planned for the future. But I'm not going to pay for updates every year, I've been using WebSite X5 for many years, like the last update next year.

All I need is an attractive template, page management with menu creation, some image and text functions and the upload function. The many gimmicks may be nice, but the basic functions are enough for me.

Why don't you use any of the big shop systems?

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately I had to make the switch to a "real" webshop program in recent weeks. It costs me € 15,= per month excluding VAT.
But now I can really focus on my trading instead of the program. All value is for its money.

I compare WebSite X5 to a regular car (simple website builder) with a trunk (Blog) and a trailer hitch (Shop), but it's not an SUV, nor is it a truck that can load several tons and can't tow truck trailers.

If you want to transport several tons or want to pull a truck trailer, you buy a truck.
