Security patches for the scripts used?  en

Question for the community and Incomedia:

Do we need to update our websites with the latest version of the program to possibly patch certain security "holes"?

In other words, does the newest version of the program contains patches for PHP and other scripts used by WSX5 for various features (for example, form handler script)?

I'm asking because I recently heard that a site was hacked (not built with WSX5) via an old PHP script vulnerability.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

It is always better to keep all software up to date for security reasons....
Incomedia will probably not recommend anything else either.
I've tagged the post for the team.

Hi Sinisa,

most of the software PHP code is written by ourselves directly, so we constantly keep it up-to-date. We also keep the parts we don't write directly regularly updated.

Thanks. Kind regards.

Hey my friend Sinisa laughing

take care also about your hosting provider and their securities tips.

many steps can be invoked. some php settings or libraries, directories and sub directories rights of your website.  Check in particular the write setting. check also if logs of hosted machine are on or not. if on could be useful for hacker to get some internal infos of the hosted machine too.

check also transfert settings (ftp, sftp, ssh...).

check firewall too if installed on hosted machine.

Often many websites have no good rights on directories and hacker can put some files

hope this helps you

Axel
