How Do I Stop Discounts on Already Discounted Products?  en

Hi all,

My online health shop has combo health packs that have various discounts: www.thetahealth.co.za/special-deals.html

My problems is, I have given a 10% discount coupon to my email subscribers (using the "Enable Coupon Code for The Order" function) to use on any item(s) in my shop, but I don't want to include the already discounted combo-packs for my subscribers to get an additional discount on top of the discount they already have.

So, how do I prevent my subscribers using a 10% discount code on already discounted items?

I don't see a way of being able to exclude items.

I know I could not use the "Enable Coupon Code for The Order" function and add the coupon code to each and every product separately that I only want the discount on, but this will take ages and is not efficient.

Does anyone know of a function in the software I've missed?

Thanks...

only a manual check, you could make a note that the coupon is only for products where there is not already another discount.

Hello Nigel

What Andre said is correct and you need to create a single coupon for all products. However, keep in mind that you do not need to open every product one by one to do this. You can highlight more than one and then press Edit to add a coupon to all of them at the same time

I hope I was helpful

Thanks Andre and Stefano.

I have added the coupon code to all of the products as you suggested Stefano. It was very easy. I thought I was going to have to do it one-by-one.

Thanks guys :)

Hi Stephano,

After doing what you advised, a customer phoned us to query our shop prices. All of our prices had erroneously changed to the same price as the first product in our store.

So, after I highlighted all of the products as you suggested, clicked edit and added the coupon code, the software changed every product price to the first one in the list.

So it seems like the programme is doing a straight copy and paste of some kind. Even all of the product weights were changed to the same as that of the first product.

There is definitely a problem (software error) in doing what you suggested.

Hello Nigel

I attempted to perform the same right now as well, as you can see here:

I have added a 5 euro discount on three products using this method, and the price on the side seems unchanged. From your tests, is the price indicated here unchanged as well? Is the issue only present once the products go online or do you see the issue here already?

I remain available here

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

I realised what I had done wrong. I noticed afterwards there is a tick-box on each tab that bulk-changes details for the specific tab I'm on.

I ticked not only the tick-box on the discount tab to bulk-change the edit, but also on the general tab that changed the price and weight settings to be the same throughtout all products.

So it's fine now. There is nothing wrong with the programme.

Regards, Nigel
