HI
In a previous quesation I asked Paypal was not working so the person helping updated my htaccess file on the server and it has worked perfectly since then. I need to make some updates to the website but when I try to upload it says the htaccess file has been updated and wants to over write the file. Do I need to ask the the htaccess file to be updated after each time I update the website ?

You are allowed to edit the .htaccess file, but you are not allowed to do it within the area
# WebSite X5 - Start Code [do not edit]
# WebSite X5 - End code
as this may be overwritten by WebsiteX5. Input you have written in the htaccess file will not be changed.

Thanks for that how do I get a copty of the htaccess file from the server ? The website x5 people updated it directly on the server so I do not have a locla copy on my PC.
In step 5 "Export" select "Export the website to the Internet" click on the folder symbol next to the 'Target directory' field and you will get to your web space. The htaccess file is either there or in a higher-level directory. You can download the file in the window, edit it locally and then upload it again. After uploading and before leaving the webspace, you must ensure that the correct folder for the upload is displayed in the 'Target directory' field.
