Good day to you all,

Here is my scenario:

IIS 7.5, php 7.2.2

I can connect to my own database using the database viewer without any problems.

However, I also need to connect to the X5 database so that I can update the products.

To be clear, I am lookng for assistance in connecting to the database that X5 uses.

I understand that this needs to be configured on the following tab:

I can handle any php / mysql stuff required once I can connect.

My goal is to use our own products table to update the products table within X5 as we have lots of items  ( 200++ ) that are changing, being added, deleted etc.

If I can connect to the X5 DB then I will write whatever SQL is required to update whatever tables need to be updated within X5 from our own products table which we can maintain.

Thank you in advance for any guidance or recomendations that anyone may have.

Keep well everyone and,

Cheers, JK

Any guidance will be very much appreciated.

Hi John,

thank you for getting in touch.

While it is possible indeed to connect the database to your project, this function can be used to manage some aspects of the e-commerce, namely the orders received, the comments on the products, the user registration to the store. However, it can't be used to update your products: you will need the software to do this.

I see you set this message as Idea, and I confirm such a suggestion had already been reported. However, I am not sure this is something that will be implemented in the near future, I am sorry about that.

Thanks! Kind regards.

Hi John,

that would be a nice feature, but as Elisa already mentioned it is not possible at the moment with the onboard functions. I am using the database viewer object with an unique stock products table on a secure page for my B2B customers. So they always had an overview of the parts on stock. Due to VAT, shipping and other admin regulations those customers order always per E-mail by the way. Therefore this approach is working  quite well for me.
