WebSite X5 Manager will be discontinued

When we launched the WebSite X5 Manager App in October 2016, our objective was to provide you with the best tool to receive push notifications about the activities related to your websites: from comments left for your Blog articles, to new orders placed on the online store.

WebSite X5 Manager performed its task very well, and from usage statistics, we know it has helped many of you stay up-to-date.

Now, however, browsers have developed in a way that made it of little use to proceed with maintaining the App. Browsers can in fact send push notifications directly, which makes it more convenient to manage the website through the online Control Panel.

Because of this, we decided to discontinue the WebSite X5 Manager App.

What does it mean? These will be the main steps:

  • Starting from November 15th, 2023, it won’t be possible to install or reinstall the App, which will no longer be updated.
  • Users who already have the App installed will be able to keep using it and receiving notifications until June 30th, 2024.
  • Starting from July 1st, 2024, users won’t be able to receive any more notifications, but the App itself will still keep working.

What do you have to do then if you want to keep receiving push notifications?

With the new version 2023.3 of WebSite X5 Pro, we introduced the possibility of managing push notification through the website’s online Control Panel. We then suggest to go on and update your license if you haven’t already.

We have prepared some guides for you to better understand what the online Control Panel is and how to use it to activate push notifications. If you still have questions or doubts, feel free to reach out, we will be happy to provide all the necessary support.
