Email when writing to database  en

Hello,

I have a large database usage website and for some reason, I am having trouble getting the program to do these 2 things.  I can get 1 or the other to work, but not both together.

1. write to the database  (this works just fine)

2. send a confirmation email, when the data is submitted. It worked in the past when I used it.  I know where to enter the information to make it happen, I submit a form, it writes to the database just fine, but no email.  YES, I have checked my junk and trash folders.

Any help would be appreciated.
