How to Permently Delete individual Pages from my website Correctly?

I have been notified from one of my suppliers that they are changing the way they go to market and want me to remove certain pages from my website.

I understand there may be several ways to do this, but some ways may be better.

I would greatly appreciate if the community could guide me in the best and simpliest way to do this.

Thankyou, Giulio Valle

My approach:

  1. I would first delete the unnecessary pages under "3 Sitemap".
  2. Then click on “Preview” while holding down the left Ctrl key and wait until the progress bar at the bottom has completely scrolled through.
  3. Then under "5 Export / Export the website to the Internet" click on the right symbol under "Target directory" to open the FTP window, mark and delete all directories and files here.
  4. Finally, export the entire website to the Internet.

But be careful, all files not uploaded via WebSiteX5 and possibly comments and other things that are not saved in the database would then be lost.

Perhaps other users can also describe their approach.

Hi Daniel

Thank you for your assistance. Have you actually tried this method? Could this method cause the loss of any juice?

Your recommendation seems easy enough, but I understand a 410 redirect is another option, or maybe a 301 redirect. What do you think about this.

I hope others in the community will comment on this subject.

Again, thank you for your quick response.

SEO and redirects go together, which is why the SEO experts should also comment on this, but first provide a link to a German-language website on this topic (have it translated on Google or wait until other users link to an English-language website).
