Can I sell created Websites with X5 Pro version 2024.2.8?
Author: Nate S.So as clearly as possible, please give me a true simple answer like I am 5 years old, my question is simple: Can I continue to sell websites, that I create with my licensed X5 Pro, to my customers that pay me money if I only use X5 Pro version 2024.2.8 and never upgrade? Thank you.
CONTEXT: I bought Website X5 Pro over a year ago, believing it was what they said, which is a lifetime license with only 1-year of free upgrades. I stopped upgrading at version 2024.2.8 and that is my latest version. I am now reading scary stories about web design professionals can no longer sell websites unless we upgrade to Agency but there is confusion with various answers from Incomedia and conversations with longtime X5 users. Incomedia has said that if you use below/under 2024.3 then you can still sell your websites to customers, is that true? Or will I get a surprise from customers that have their websites crashed by Incomedia. I really liked Website X5 and planned on renewing my license but now seriously considering moving back to WordPress (cost/benefits analysis) since things are starting to look concerning with Incomedia but maybe I am misunderstanding and need clarification. Please help and thanks.
According to the Incomedia employee, websites created with the Pro version 2024.2 may be sold to third parties, see excerpt from this post

... On the other hand, by continuing using version 2024.2, it is still possible to use Pro to create and manage websites for third parties, even upon payment.

Thanks, I did see that. But the confusion with Incomedia is new to me so hoping to get the license hard copy (it's hidden now lol). Do you happen to have the EULA for any version before 2024.3 that allowed commercial use (making websites to sell to customers), since I looked all over and can't find it anywhere. It's like it was intentionally scrubbed from the internet but I know it exist somewhere. Incomedia updated their generic EULA to encompass all versions (both old and new), I even reinstalled the old 2024.2.8 install package of WX5 Pro to go thru the steps to see the correct EULA and it links to NEW LICENSE website https://static.incomedia.eu/start.websitex5.com/EULA_EN which says you need AGENCY for commercial use even though it is not applicable to prior licenses (again older EULA is scrubbed/gone). If any Incomedia employee or user has a link to the 2024.2 license please send. Thanks.
As far as I know, Incomedia once wrote that the sale of websites created with the Pro version (up to and including version 2024.2) to third parties was not explicitly prohibited and this was made more specific with the release of the Agency version.
More detailed information from Incomedia.
