V8 To V9 Import - Mouse Contact And Colour Of Menue Buttons  en

Hi there,

Converting V8 to V9, I found that the background colour for mouse contact of a menu button, once selected by clicking on the button, stays on if I move the cursor to other buttons or somewhere else in the page. The colour switches only back when I definitely click on another button.

This looks extremely unaesthetic (i.e. a page with such features is unpresentable).

Could anybody advise me what to do here? Or could the software be updated, in order to solve the problem?

Grateful for any advice.

Hi M.!

In the Advanced settings'' - STEP 4 - you will find the ''Main Menu'' option. Please enter it. Here you will be able to adjust and customize your menu buttons as you wish. Look at our tutorial: http://www.websitex5.com/en/video-tutorial.html - step 4 - you will see what I am talking about.

You can adjust the ''Menu item'' background color, text color, border color, add a background image to it and choose your font style. Futhermore, you can choose your ''item on mouseover/Current Page'' background color, text color, border color, add a background image to it and choose your font style.

You can choose the size of it, add 3D effects and choose the border style!

Please test it!Wink

Hi, I have a similar problem - and I have gone to the Menu Item and my problem is that if I choose either transparent or white for background colour - the buttons are grey and if I choose another pastel colour they come about very bright?  Any suggestions?  This happened when I upgraded from V8 to V9 - this website is still in development and has not yet been published.

Yes Gwenda. If you choose a 3d style for your buttons you need to add a color to it or else it is impossible to add an effect to a transparent item. You can, if you wish to have a see through button, create an image with photoshop with very low transparency then add it to website and apply an effect to it.

Thank you for your comment however I did have a colour applied but when 3D was chosen it turned it into grey - no matter what colour you chose - this is academic now as my client prefers the style I have now applied to their site but 3D did NOT work when the style was created in V8 and then imported into V9.  It does work if site is newly created in V9.  Thank you for looking at this problem.

That is very strange Gwenda, I have just tried it now and the 3d effect is applied correctly, here's what I did:

  • Step 4 Advanced Settings - Main menu - Menu item tag.
  • I set the ''Menu Item'' background color to red and the ''item on mouseover'' color to red
  • I whent into the 3D style tag and tried out every shape and every 3D Format/ border style and the red background was still there.

Could you please try to do the same thing  in a new project and let me know if it wors? Thank you!
