please enter the Google Analytics code in Step 1 "General Settings" -> "Expert" => "Code for Website Statistics" .

Google gives you a choice now..... between the "Classic" or the Asynchronous analytics code See here:
http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/asyncTracking.html
The Asynchronous code goes before the </head> tag and is faster loading, also it doesn't conflict with other scripts like it used too.....
Check which one you have!!
