since uploading to v9 vimeo video files will not play on my websitewww.eqtv.co.ukI get the message that the 'owner' has not given permission for the video to be played on this domain, even though in the admin section on vimeo, it is fully enabled.
I have tried both the embed code and the URL link and neither works.
Vimeo have checked that the code is correct and are telling me that X5 V9 is corrupting the code and not allowing it to play.
I have the same videos playing without problem on another domain through the V8 template without problem.
Is there a fault with V( and Vimeo files?
Thank you

Hi Stephen!
I tryed to add a video from Vimeo and it worked so I don't think that the program is causing you problems (you can see it here http://www.websitex5.co.uk/_st/cart/video.html)
Could it be your provider?
Futhermore, what version of IE are you using?
Please make sure that your flash in IE is up to date!

Thank you for your answer.
Was using IE8 but changed to 9 and still the same.
How did you manage to get your vimeo video to play, did you copy and paste the URL into the X5 V9 vimeo/youtube url box or the old vimeo embed code/ new iframe vimeo embed code?
I can't seem to get any of them to work!
I have a lot of vimeo video on my site, the site is not published yet, but in preview they all play EXCEPT full screen doesn't work right, it goes full screen but only 1/4 of the screen has video the rest is black. This is in version 9, in ver 8 they did fine full screen

Your video is only showing 1/4 because scaling is on, click on the scaling button and it will play in full screen mode....wish mine would play in any size!http://www.eqtv.co.uk/vaulting.html
turned off scaling in the embedding part of vimeo but the video still only shows top left and is 1/4 of the video, can't get out of it without doing ctrl alt delete and ending task, I'll stick with no full screen. I can't get embed to work in ver 9 so I use the url in the youtube/vimeo line. You might try using a text box, adding a name of the video then highlight the name and use the insert link icon--the one with the chain-- then file or url, insert file, check open in pop up window, and do the url to the vimeo video. When you preview and click on the name it will go to the video and the user can then play the video--try it to see if it plays for you
Stephen, I looked at your web page and under vaulting, the top video looks like when I do one with the embed code, mine won't play either, the one below it looks like when I do the URL, but I only get that screen if in vimeo settings, under Privacy, I don't have anyone checked, so anyone can watch it, so make sure anyone is checked. I would like to do one like the one on your home page, how did you do that one--Bruce
Good morning!
Well, first of all there are two different methods to add your vimeo video:
1- (video placed on the top) - using the video and audio object: open it and simply add the video's URL in the ''You Tube/ Vimeo video URL'' field. This method gives you the opportunity to customize your video. You can choose to add your control bar, color it or hide it if you wish.
2- using the HTML object: copy the video's embed code and paste it in the object. Adjust the properties (on the bottom right corner), select ok and preview. This method gives you the chance to add the video exactly as it is on vimeo.
The full screen instead, depends on your offline preview.
Thanks Samantha, I had been doing the URL way in 1 above but no matter how I set the setting in vimeo, full screen doesn't work right. I changed to HTML in 2 above and it works fine using the vimeo full screen arrows. I will do the videos in HTML embed style.
Thanks for your help--Bruce

Hi Bruce
the video on my homepage was done by copying the old vimeo embed code (not the new iframe one, as many people are complaining of a black screen) and instead of using the video box in V9 X5, paste it into a html box. The grey surround was from the template choices. Which really is a painful way to do something which should work by simply copy and pasting the vimeo URL, which isn't working for me!
Regards
Steve
Thanks, Steve, I got the html how- to from Samatha above, I will try your template choice and see if I can get it with a background. The vimeo url works for me but not the full screen part. I will do the hmtl type for now.
