I have noticed that since febuary Emails being sent from website have started showing in the header 'Sent on the half of' this was not happening before and my host provider has commented below so this must be to do with one of the latest updates?

Comment From Host provider

  • By default, if you send an email from scripting on a webserver the email address will be "***" UNLESS you specify proper 'from headers' in the mailing script, or you change to use SMTP to send via an authenticated mailbox. There hasn't been any recent server change that would affect this.

Can anyone advise how to correct this, it was working fine before.

Dear Alan,

could you please kindly attach a screenshot of the email you receive and point out where the issue is? Thank you!

Alan you are using two servers both from Heart-Internet?

Why haven't you got these on the same server (Saves you time and money) ....and you are using PHP for the mail so it should work no matter what email address you use!

For SMTP this is POP and even if you are forwarding emails they should still work because they're coming from the same Hosting Company??

OK the only thing you can try at this moment in time Alan is change the PREFERENCES of the MAIL Scripts as soon as you open X5 V9. Using these does mean that the server has changed in some way.... this is the only reason I can think of. Some other X5ers are experiencing difficulties especially with uploads and it's all due to server updates!!

You can try this or wait till Sam gets back on Monday....

Tried your X5 Mail Form and recieved it with no problems Alan!!

Yes I thought you were using an online email account..... This usually happens!!

What you are better off doing is using an email address from your server and forwarding it to your mail account on your computer!! (ISP)

Alan retrieve my screenshot program off the Cyber Cafe the ones you've sent are too small matey....
