I have upgraded from version 8 to version 9. My version 8 website uses "nature autumn signs" template. The version 9 version is different (the backgound is striped); what is the procedure for importing the original template?

You have to picture files in the folder of version 8 models to find and create a custom template in version of these images.

If you do not get along so that you can also call your menu and used the selected color and I can convert it here

Hi Greg, here's what you can do, please follow carefully:

  • if you look into your Evo 8 project folder there is another with all your template images. The images should be named something like ''header, menu, content, footer and bg''.
  • Now please open your Evo 9, select your project and go forward.
  • Go into Step 1 - General Settings - and select ''Custom Template'' then go into the next step.
  • You are in the Custom Template section now.
  • You need to add you images in your template and rebuild it by adding its size as well. Here's an example:
-Choose the menu type according to the menu you have added to your Website
-Page Section - Let's choose the first option, ''Page Background''.
-Choose the image called ''bg'' form your project file and add it in the ''Image file'' section then choose one of the options in the drop down menu of the ''repeat'' section. This has to be chosen according to the image you have added. If you have a small square for example (just a color) you have to add the ''tile image'' option.
  • Now add all the other images. Be careful though, you need to adjust their size.

Please try and let me know if I can help you any futher.
    Thank you!

Hello and thanks for your help.  I have followed your suggestion, with almost complete success.  Under Version 8 my header went across the whole page, but with Version 9, I have only succeeded in extending the header "top" across "page contents" and not  "page contents" plus "page background".  Otherwise I have the template, except that it is saved as a new project and not as a template.  Unless it is saved as a template, I cannot see how the pages prepared in Version 8 can be imported into Version 9?  How should I be doing this? Thanks

Well, you have created it as a project therefore you will not find it in the template gallery.

You musn't create the template then import your Evo 8 project, you have to import your Evo 8 project in Evo 9 and create the template in that project by selecting the ''custom template'' option in that project.

Thanks Samantha, your dialogue has been really good and easy to follow.

So finally, could I have recreated my Evo 8 template as a Evo 9 template, rather than as a project?

BTW re my earlier post, and I'm not entirel sure how, but I have now got the header "top" across "page contents" plus "page background" Smile

Thanks

Thank you Greg, I'm glad to know that I have been useful!Laughing
Good I'm glad the template is now correct, well done!

No, you can not create the template and add it to your template gallery, you can only save it as a project. If you need it for other projects, simply leave it as it is and ''Duplicate'' it in the Existing Project list every time you wish to start a new project with it!
This means that you will have to import your project and rebuild the template in it, I'm sorry! But I'm sure that the second time you do it will be much easier! Wink

I had used the same template. In version 8 it was a "standard" template. If you buy the "extra" templates of version 9, than it's there again !

It is still a big error that templates used in an older version, not (automaticaly) are coverted so you can use it in a update.

The written procedure which you have to do manually, can also be done by the import action of a site to the newer version, because everything is there!

und beim duplizieren des Projektes nimmt man gleich alle Dateien mit und bekommt sie nicht alle wieder entfernt! Als Bug gemeldet!
