No email confirmation after editing payment type V9

When I edit a payment type and add instructions into email field it will not generate a confirmation email to myself or the customer when I leave this field blank it works perfectly. I want to add instructions IE bank transfer details who to make cheques payable to etc how do I do this

What is the text you are going to insert? Maybe it contains not allowed characters.

I don't think you are allowed line spaces in between lines of text I have just tried it without and the email comes through ok
