Uniformity Issue  en

Have a look at my website:

http://www.hampsteadheath.net(i.e. The Home Page)

You will see four small cells near the top, all showing "NEW" topics.

My problem is that I just cannot make all these squares appear the same size, despite using a ".png" template I created in Photoshop.

Why is this?

How do I rectify the visual problem?

Thanks,

Nigel

Hello Nigel,

the style of these cells really depends on what you set for them inside WebsiteX5. You can try to duplicate one these objects and then just make the changes you need, in this way your don't have the risk of miss some style settings.

Hope this helps

Hi Michelle...

I did that but it's a bit hit-and-miss.

Even doing that, produced two different sizes.

It's not much but it makes everything look a bit gawky.

(ps I didn't get back to you re- uploading files that don't reflect changes i.e. I take out a picture frame and reload, using same file name. It changes in PREVIEW but not on the server and I am wondering if it is a server issue or a software issue still.)

Hello Nigel,

Maybe you did some slightly different settings form one cell to an other cell, you canalso try to use the copy/paste cell style.

My suggestion is to completely delete the object with the unwanted style and make a duplicate of the one with the correct style, at this point the objects should look exaclty the same, could you plaese verify that? Then, make the modification one by one and see which of them could break your style (it could be also the content whether it is of different length).

Regarding the upload probably there was an error doing it, could you please try again maybe exporting the whole site just to be sure that the program will export all the necessary files?

May I ask you if try already tried to refresh the local cache of WebsiteX5 opening the preview holding down the CTRL key? This is just to be sure that what you are seeing on the preview is not an old page or have old objects in it.

Keep me updated

Hi Michele...

I did upload the whole site ie on top of itself but I'll wait until December when I can delete the website and upload afresh.

My problem is that my Google Adsense revenue would take a battering if I delete and upload these months...lol.

No real big issue...just like to be tidy.

The MAIN problem of not deleting the files on the server is that Google still causes people to go to pages that I've either deleted or temporarily dimmed, although I have deleted the html where it's obvious this is happening.

Google Ads are so difficult to place neatly, although I'm getting better at it.

Best wishes,

N.

ps...might be a suggestion to the programmers to give an alternative in the hiding options so that one choice is uploaded, the other isn't???
