Putting some html files in a subdirectory  en

Is it possible to put some of the html pages in a subdirectory on the webserver? My problem is, that I have a free and therefore quite limited webspace. No PHP etc.

Up to now, to create some secured pages (so not everyone could do downloads of some files), I created a subdirectory, and put two files ".htaccess" and ".htpasswd" in this subdirectory. All html pages, which are now put into this subdirectory, require a basic authentication before being shown.

More security is not possible, especially it is not possible for me to create a "secured page" inside website X5, since for this, a PHP script in order to login is created, but, as mentioned, this does not work on my very limited webspace.

So is there any possibility to put those html pages, which require this minimum authentication, into a subdirectory somewhere in website X5?

If not, I also appreciate any other hints, on how to achieve this goal (e.g. manually moving the html files into the subdirectory, but then I have to adapt the links inside website HTML, I think)...

Any help appreciated!

Hello Dirk,

there's no such a option in WebsiteX5, the only possibiliy I can think of is to create a second site with the same template an put it the subfolder with restricted access, in this way you can create the html page with websiteX5.

In the first site (the one in the root) you can add levels in the Sitemap creation that points directly to the files of second site you wish.

Hope this helps

""imemail.inc.php" problem

Hi, A webspace does not have server side scripting. Only HTML. I need to create "email form". At this stage when you are trying to "send" a request - nothing happens

Can you please advise how can I convert existing "imemail.inc.php" to HTMl file and should I change the site map or any steps associated with this?

Cheers

Stan

Why are you causing yourself problems when for a small remittance you can have peace of mind?

There are hosting companies that start from as little as $1 per month.... and there are companies that host for FREE! It's just finding the right one for X5! The majority have PHP enabled anyhow!

Then there will be no need for questions on how to adapt X5 to work without the aid of PHP...

The Members Area, Blog and Admin Area etc.... all need PHP so it would be more beneficial to you if you had these on the server. Or are you gonna find work-a-rounds for these too?
