Hi everyone I had two websites almost completely built, and then picked up a huge virus which meant I had to reload windows and website x5. I had saved the sites to a portable drive, but I cannot see how I can edit them in website x5. Is there a work-round Or is it all just useless?

You did export the project from X5 as a backup?

If so import them back into the program......

Hi I simply saved the site. Thus when I try to import the file it cannot "see" the site for either of the two file types

Nick it is no good saying "I simply saved the site.... " I'm asking whether you followed the correct proceedure in Exporting your project as a backup?

This is why I offered you my support... so I could see the problem!

I think I'll let the staff help you out Nick! Tomorrow.....

My last pst didn't get published so I'll try again.

Why are you being so rude to me? There is a saver button on the evolution 9 screen - which I pressed and which saved the site. So yes ".......I simply saved the site" by simply pushing the Save button.

So Again I ask is there a way to recover this "Saved file" in order to continue to work on it?

Actually rereading your last posting, I'm even more confused. Why have a Save button, if the correct procedure is to Export it?

Also why is the customer who spends a £100 not allowed any information without having to share his computer? All I've done is ask for information to help me - the customer. All that has happened is that I have had a lecture on trust and no answers.

Please Help

Which folder you saved in pen drive? The folder where you save images or the project folder that contains this file project.iwprj

Hi Roberto

I started the project and all worked well. But I then had a major rootkit malware attack from a corrupt website - which is why I don't want to give remote access to my computer - as a result of which Windows 7 became corrupted and had to be reinstalled.

This meant that I had to reinstall Evolution 9 and all i have left is the site which I had saved.

I have the entire web site (including image folders) - but no *.iwprj file.

I did not use the SAVE button though - I had all my files backed up - copied drag and drop as usual - (not only X5) on a separate drive, but the reinstalled X5 cannot see the iwprj files.  if I click on the iwprj in the file, the X5 program opens but at the pre-project page.

UPDATE

I started a new project and copy and pasted all the x5 files from the "invisible" into the new project.  I can now open the project and all the text is perfect - but although all the images are in the gallery and image files, they are not being loaded when I preview.

A solution please...

I have the same problem after every update. I used a selfdefined workaround:

Single photo: Open each site, open the path and select the photo again and save. Sometimes you only need to open the dialog for editing the photo. You will see it if the save button become highlighted.
Gallery: This is much easier. Open the gallery, dialog change the type. (e.g. Flash -> HTML), save, change back and save.

I hope this will help you. It is a mess that the save button isn't enough to keep our work.

Thank you for  that, but I have got lots of sites - it will take forever to re-link each image.

I cannot believe that the site doesn´t save as a complete unit!
