Necessary Cart Upgrades  en

Hello Incoguys

I think it's time to make a list of necessary features for the cart.

First of all, we need backend amount control. This has been brought up before, in a italian post. The user even made a nice picture of the feature, with green/yellow/red dots, indicating the stock supply.

We need more "choose fields" to the products, so that there can be made several choices to one product, instead of making 100 products that actually is the same.

We need the cart to stop sending customers to the checkuout page when they add something to the cart, or at least make it an option to not send them to the checkout page. Instead we should have a cart that follows the users screen e.g. http://www.flammenudafhuset.dk/bestil-buffet-2.html - Try to scroll down, and watch the orange box follow you.

- This way the users can shop more items, and move around the page easier.

We need customerlogin at our pages, so customers can log in, at see their previous buys. NOT SOME 3. PARTY SOFTWARE SOLUTION!

We need more control over the fields that customers have to fill out in step 3. E.g. e-mail check! (Double email lines) This is really a big mistake not to have E-mail check on the Webshop checkout!

We need the freedom to use other payment systems more effectively, like Dibs in denmark, Epay and so on. So work on other API's, they are out there free to use in the system, and SIMPLE!!!!

There should NOT be sent out any confirmation mail before the customer actually have paid for the product(s)! This is really a huge bug, and I don't know why you don't see it! I don't know any other webshop that does this!

We need more flexibility with the X5 cart, like a online CMS system, so we can edit the amount online, whitout starting Website X5.

More backup should be made automaticly. Which is pretty easy: make the program upload a backup file to the webspace when updating the site. This could be a choice in step 5 --> export webpage AND backup.

You should go look at other carts, and see what they actually offers, then just copy that. That is what we want.

I have a lot of other good ideas, but I will build more on this post over time.

Regards,

Henrik

I agree with Henrik that the software needs to evolve. Whilst it gives you an easy way to set up a website you do find a few problems when you start using the site for commerce.

I have mentioned the confirmation problem before, but I would also like to add the need for linking the orders made to a database backup on the site as well as sending the order emails, I have now lost three order emails and had to ask the customer what they had ordered and paid for as the PayPal email just gives details of the payment but the order emails weren't sent out.

It would also be a good idea to offer easy integration of a range of payment options – I had another problem with a customer in the USA who refused to use PayPal and wouldn’t give his card details to us for use in a ‘customer not present’ card payment on our credit card machine.

Regards,

Mark.

I totally agree with Henrik, I love the ideas he has mentioned above, I would love to see all them features in X5

I think also that when a customer does pay, they have the option of registering a account so their orders get stored etc like Henrik mentioned or they can checkout using guest checkout so they dont need to create a account if they don't wish too

Please incomedia take the features suggested and include them in a next update
