Encryption or protection of hidden pages  en

If I create a hidden page it is not protected or encrypted. I found out that with google the hidden pages can be found and accessed by anyone.

So if you know the title of the hidden page it can be accessed.

Is there a way to protect hidden pages?

Not to my knowledge, if the webpage is known to somebody then you can go there. Encryption can only be done with HTTPS. This is not supported by X5. Yoe can change the update frequency to never and the priority to low in the expert section. Also you can add a file on you webserver (robot.txt) find information on how to on the internet. I can link it here but it is easily found. Hope this helps a little bit, but remember everything you put on internet can be found, its never 100 % save.....

Hello,

Google spiders could find the page or someone that knows the url but it's not possible to access to the protected content. If you could see it trough google it's because you did probably the login and didn't logout.

If you require any further information, please feel free to write back.

Claudio,

I did check what you mentioned about the log-in, so I called out the website on a PC where I necer logged in before. I did not log in on the protected pages but just typed the address in including the protected page name followed with .html. I did this for all protected pages and all came up the screen without logging in.

This means that people who know the html address of the protected page can see these pages. Sometimes you see that protected pages has an address like:http://mywebsite.nl/kaegfgicbgqpi;ibp086pwig8pqbp.html

These pages can not be found by google. Is there a way to do this in websiteX5?

I can give the protected page(s) a difficult to find name like ahqiugqigbf.html but this string is then also visible on the webpage itself. That is not what I want.

Regards,

F.D.

Hello F.D.,

You can protect the hidden pages with username and password or you can create manually a robot.txt file to tell google to not search these pages but I would sugges you to protect them because so you are sure that nobody can see the content also if they find the page.

If you require any further information, please feel free to write back.
