I have taken note of a comment here and I have converted a ".gif" file to a ".swf".
However, can anyone advise me how to manipulate the position of this ".swf" file, within a cell (Evolution9)
(Previously, in Evolution 8, I imported the ".gif" to a text file and enlarged and moved it until it looked right.)
Can't seem to do this with the ".swf" cell.
Thanks.

Hi Nigel, you need to convert gif to swf if you want to add the animation on the header or footer in the template editor. You can add an animated gif file in the Text Editor directly wihout have to convert to swf.
It's not possible to import animated gif in the template editor because WSX5 saves only one image for the header, so the animation is not visible.
Here's a simple workaround if you want to use an animated gif in a banner, without converting it to swf:
Upload your animated gif at the root of your server (Using Filezilla or similar)
Go to step 1, and insert am html object in the banner.
Add this code in the html object:
<img src="http://www.yourdomain.com/your_animated_file.gif"></img>
Of course, replace yourdomain.com and your_animated_file.gif with your own data.
Adjust the size and the position of the object
Save and upload your website using WX5 ftp function.
Voilà !

EVEN QUICKER........ NO NEED TO UPLOAD ANIMATION!!
OK X5 Users same principle as above but no leaving the project..... At all!!
To insert an animation in the head/footer and see it working instantly in PREVIEW is:
1) Go to any HTML Box in your project and insert into: Files linked to HTML code your animation. ADD to FILES Folder. Have your animation use one word/name e.g. house.gif (Easier to remember) This is like using the PAPER CLIP in V8.......
2) Return to header/footer insert the HTML box and put this RELATIVE code inside:
<img src="files/house.gif"></img>
3) Now PREVIEW and see your animation working. Adjust to suit!!
Enjoy!!

Hi guys...
I THINK I squeezed the ".gif" too much (narrow cell/re-sizing) in the text cell, maybe.
HOWEVER, what I really need to know is how to alter the position of an imported ".swf" file into its own cell?
During the process above, I noticed the ".swf" showed at the top of the cell (untidy).
I suppose the answer might be to use an html-cell...and then all the parameters are shown in the eitable code???
Thanks,
Nigel
