Evolution 9 And Update 1699  en

Hello people!

Ok...I've had a hard time and lots of problems with Evolution 9, as my posts will signify.

HOWEVER, to be fair to all concerned, I have to state that "tech" has beeen on my case each time and I HAVE had answers at every stage of my long long personal thread.

(I would welcome "tech" to publish it if possible to show the problems and answers that I have hadMoney mouth)

Now that the new update 1699 is in place I have to state that everything is TONS easier, although there is a bit of rustiness and minor "bugs" which I'm sure time and further updates will soon cure.

I was able to publish my smaller personal site today...I wanted to do this so I could see if there were any problems before I publish the really big one! (probably next Tuesday, when my traffic is down)

I'm glad I did as I found an FTP password issue with my Host, which took a while to rectify and would have slowed down the process on Tuesday.

I also discovered the "table" issue, so I was able to do the tiny bit of editing for each table I use on both sites to rectify THAT issue.

With four multiple connections, the "publish" function is really good!

Everything went well so I am now looking forward to getting the BIG one on line (It normally takes nearly a full day to publish...lol)

In case of a problem, I packed up my smaller website into a storage folder on my server so that if there HAD been an issue I could quickly have reinstated it.

I will do the same with the bigger one!

Soooo...I am now happy enough!

I am surprised that the original Evolution 9 wasn't kept on hold for a while...at least until the update issues were included and I do feel that Incomedia may have damaged their street cred. just a bit by this rush.

HOWEVER, all's well now and I remain the eternal optimist!

Remember...the pessimist may well be RIGHT at the end of the day BUT the optimist has a far happier time reaching the same conclusion.

BON VOYAGE E9 users and ENJOY!

Nigel
