Thanks for your answer, but I think you have not understood my question as I'm talking about the factory res files (i.e. installed by Website X5) used for the advertising message function !

I would like to edit that res file so that it displays something like "cliquez moi" instead of "click me". So my question is "do I need to know anything before I try to open the res file, can a graphics editor be used to modify the file...?". In other words, will I break anything if I edit the res file (if that's possible).

You mean this pagepeel in the res folder.

This is no so good idea, because the next update overwrite the files.
The Pagepeel is Flash (files: x5engine.php and x5engine.js), I would not do it.
