Why when I make only one change to one page and choose "Export only the files modified after the last export on date Friday, January 18, 2013" X5 uploads ALL the website files.

Hello James,

It depends on what change you made. If you changed something that has to be updated on more pages then it will be uploaded all. As Example if you change the name of one page this change will need to update all pages because all these are linked together and so the program has to recreate them all.

Hope this helps.

Same thing happens with me but only with one particular website.  I design and manage several sites for customers.  This is only happening with one.  Could there be a corruption somewhere?  If so, anyway to fix something like that without having to rebuild the whole site?  I can confirm that a number of pages would not be affected by some of the updating changes I make to this site.  Am using latest version with most recent updates.

Hello William,

If you changed something as example in the header or the footer, since they are present in all pages the whole project has to be exported again. If you added some custom code in step 1 - Expert Tab, like the header or footer, this will reflects on all pages and so the whole project has to be uploaded because the program seems that all parts has changed.

Many thanks!

Just went and changed one typo in a text field on one page.  Clicked 'SAVE' up top.  Went to upload changes only and the whole thing started loading.  That would not bother me except this site has a number of large PDF files and photos and will now take about 1.5-2 hrs. to update.  PS - Other than the above frustration this is a great product.  Looking forward to V10.

Hello William,

To avoid to upload all files, if they are large, you can also upload them in a folder online with an external FTP Client like filezilla and then instead of adding the file locally you put the link to the file online and so these will not be uploaded also if you make big changements.

If you require any further information, please feel free to write back.

I have the same problem, but only since I started to use version 10. In version 9 (and 8 as well) I never experienced this problem. I have a lot of (legal) audiofiles and pdf's on my website and I experience this problem everytime I upload my website after just small changes in the text file on a page.

And therefore, it must be a bug in the program since they have to uploaded again and again and again. Frustrating!!!

I'm looking forward to an update that'll fix this, Incomedia! And please hurry!

Greetings from Jan

I also got the same problem after I upgraded to the latest version of 9.1.12.75 and therefore the export to the web is much slower than before - and I upgraded just because of the better export function :-)

And this happens everytime - allthough I only changed one character on one page.

Hello,

After a program update the project will be exported completely because the update effects has to be added on all parts of the project.

Many  thanks!

Yes I know that about a update.

But Website X5 - 10 keeps uploading the whole site everytime I changed one site - that wasn't so before, so something has changed!

Hello Reinar,

it depends on what you changed on the site. When you export do you have the option active to export only modified files?

Many thanks!

Hello Claudio

What I can see is, that the WHOLE project is uploaded again (not only the site and linked sites).

I hope you understand what I mean.

Hi again

Sometimes all files are uploaded - sometimes are only the changed site uploaded.
Strange.

I don't see a pattern.

Regards
Reinar

Hello Reinar,

Can you please try to see what changes made in the project makes a full export and what changes exports only the updated files?

Many thanks!
