Hey, i wonder if there is a easy way to synchronize a website i'm working on between more computers? As it is, i have to import and then export again every time i switch computers, quite a hassle. The best would be to have everything synchronized in for instance Dropbox, so that you easily can switch between computers and that only the latest differed files get uploaded. And so that when i open the project on the 'next' computer everything is ready fast and easily :-)

Hello John,

A short answer and it costs me, believe me : the reply is no Frown
You can of course synchronise the two computers but you will have to export the project each time you close it.

A big part of the reason I've gone away from website X5 to weebly, files are not stored on individual computers.  Website X5 much hard to update files on the move, tied to one or two computers is so outdated!

Agree on that, Des. They should definitely make this better in the newer versions. Now i have to use 15-20 minutes to export, then transfer it to a memory stick (5 more minutes) and then import it at the other pc which takes another 10 minutes at least. Though, Website X5 is a very good program i am very happy with (except for this thing then) :-)

Hello John

I also work on two computers, one at my workplace and another at home. I use Dropbox to synchronize these computers. The way is following:

1. Install Dropbox on both computers

2. From Dropbox program preferences change Dropbox location to C:\Dropbox (on both computers)

3. Create any folder in C:\Dropbox (in my case C:\Dropbox\My works)

4. In step 0 in Website x5 change project location to the one you created in step 3 (on both computers).

5. Import your project in one computer and wait for Dropbox to upload it to cloud storage.

Now your project is available in both computers.

The only disadvantage is you can't open the project on both computers at the same time.

One more thing. You can create an extra folder in C:\Dropbox\yourfolder\, for example pictures, for  images you use in your project.
