Non text main menu items

Is there an option to have the main menu items picture only without the text? I have tried adding a pic as the icon of the menu item but can't seem to delete the text whereas I want to have the pic only

Hello,
I made this one day: use the same colors for the menu text and the background image. Than I choosed "anti aliasing". The text disappeared.
The other option is to used no menu (1px height) and create your own menu in the top of each page (tedious).

This helps me get around the issue but is probably bad practice just to hide text with colours. Was hoping for an option I haven't found to allow pic only in menu. Think this can be an important feature for mobile website design
