Text Blocks  en

Hi there...

I'm having difficulty adjusting my cell blocks to appear without unnecessary bits of free space.

On my HOME page (see enclosed image) I cannot adjust the text so that it completely fills the two long text cells, either side of the large picture (slide show).

I've tried tweaking and squeezing but it is perhaps that I do not fully understand the dynamics of all these factors.

If I place more text and/or increase the font size, the picture and its library cell just increase in length and there is still a gap beneath the text.

I'm sure I need an education here...lol!

Can you advise, please?

Thank you,

NIGEL

Hi there JBr

Thanks

Yes...I've tried most of that...I WILL try equalizing the number of lines in each text block.

So your text is in a plain text box or a table cell?  And what is the green background with rounded corners?

If you use a table cell, it fills the space perfectly.  Not sure how your page is structured...

The texts are both in text boxes with coloured backgrounds and using the curved corner tool, shadow-effect and outer frame on the top and left hand side.

The top central slideshow has a library surround with altered hue.

I made both text boxes of equal lines and size of text.

(This space problem occurs throughout the site, unfortunately.)

I'm still using V9 so I don't know these new features of V10.  The only other suggestion I can make is using Custom HTML and hard code your own table cell with specified width and height so your text fits exactly in the space you want it to.  You could also style the space between lines which will spread your lines and fill the entire cell.  But again, that's writing your own code and not using the program's built in features.

Hi Denis...

That's right...I don't want to have to look further than the software.

I'll see if one of Incomedia's staff can advise.

I only stay with this particular software as the methodology totally suits my personality.

It shouldn't take 48 hours to get answers and...then...a misunderstanding can make it up to 96 hours waiting.

Alright, well good luck!!!  I know May 1st was a holiday for the staff so hopefully someone runs across this post.  Maybe repost again to get it noticed?  Not sure about the ethics of reposting here...

I made a simple one a year ago but I didn't like the limitations of X5.  I went on a learning spree and I'm developing another one right now with X5 but hard coding a member system and a shopping cart to add discounts for members.  I don't like how you have to accept a user when they sign up.  I want the user to be able to sign up and have access and also have a member page.  Anyway, I'm rambling.  This is the first basic wholesale website:

Konnten Sie die Texte ihrer Seite nun zufriedenstellend gestalten, bedenken Sie es gibt Unterschiede zwischen v9 und v10. Die Gestaltungswerkzeuge sind vielfältig, Sie können auch die inneren und äusseren Ränder in jedem Objekt einstellen.

I have just played around again with the object dimensions and I have realized now how to use the tool properly.

My mistake!

Thanks to all
