Limited functionality in version Compact 9? Why can't I create a blog, as described in "Help"? There's no link or icon for "Special Pages", so I can't see how to create it other than as a text page. There's no icon or reference point for groups or levels of access for users as described in the help pages. Is this just a ploy to get me to upgrade?

Hello Alan,
If you open Step 4 you will find the Blog functionality where you can start to add the blog entries. The Blog, once uploaded, can be reached under /blog as example: www.mywebsite.ext/blog
The Special pages can be found, once you activated the blog, in Step 2 - Sitemap.
Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

Sorry, but I'm still confused about what's required, and the Help pages simply assume that I understand about uploading the blog, activating the blog etc., which I don't. I own the domain name but, in the development stage, I have not yet lodged it with an ISP to host it or bring it online. The pages shown in the Help section are more comprehensive than those in my version of Website X5, so the icons I seek are not available to me.
I have created a page and called it "The Family Blog", with text and an image, and selected items for the side block and the layout, but there must be a stage that's not described in the Help pages which I'm missing. I have printed all the relevant Help pages, but there's no guidance on what to do next, either in the Help pages or on the video. So where is the information on how to upload and activate the blog?
Hi Alan,
On account of the way the blog is coded, you won't be able to view it until you upload to your server (i.e. when you get round to choosing a webhost) - in other words you can't use preview mode. This is because the blog itself resides on the server, not on the client's PC.
The blog will be uploaded automatically once you upload your entire X5 project to your new webspace, providing you follow the setup instructions located here:
http://help.websitex5.com/en/blog.htm
Hope that helps in some way.
