Software will not update  en

After purchasing version 10 of WebsiteX5 I find I cannot update the software? The site I constructed in the demo version will not load-up either as it tells me it was created on a later version?

I have requested a full refund as I find, after using previous versions (8 and 9) that releasing software in this condition is disgusting.

Hello Graham,

Can you please tell me what exactly happens when you try to update the program?

Have you tried to check if the antivirus/firewall is blocking the program from updating?

You can also download the most updated installer from your answers.websitex5.com profile in the "Downloads" section and install it.

You get this message because the installed Version is not updated like the demo and once updated, or reinstalled by downloading it from your profile, it will be possible to open the project.

Dear Claudio,

I have downloaded the latest version but it still will not update! I turned-off my anitvirus and firewall BUT, to no avail.

I expect small hiccups with new software but this is beyond small. I would, once again, request a full refund!

You should not have to check if a antivirus/firewall is blocking the upgrade, that is passing the buck onto anyone else other than X5, the programmers should have save guards written into the program to provent these problems. Just look back since version 10 has been released and see just how many problems have been reported by those who have upgraded, its  a never ending list.

Thank you Christine, to say I am MOST disapointed with V10 is a understatement. Nicola M from tech support assured me I would get a full refund if the issue persists but they now seem reluctant to get back to me!

I believed they had a 30 day guarantee? I am considering putting this matter in the hands of my solicitor.

Hello,

The program cannot take control over the antivirus/firewall since these programs needs to have the full control of the system otherwise they would be useless if any program can change the settings of them, like a virus or a trojan.

These programs controls the behaviour of the computer by protecting it and sometimes these are blocking all and so some programs cannot connect to internet until you add them in the whitelist, so they can communicate.

As alternative, to update you can always download the most updated installer from your anwers.websitex5.com profile and install it. This one contains the latest update.
