Hi Dirk,
Try holding the 'CTRL' key down whilst entering the preview mode.

Holding 'CTRL'-key does not change anything. This is how the website (preview) looks now, go to www.hvsupport.nlto see how is was before update....

Website www.hvsupport.nlshows how the site (preview) should be.
The current site info was build with the previous version.
Close Website X5... delete the folders 'Preview' and 'Upload' which you will find nested in the 'Incomedia' folder within your 'Documents' folder...
Restart X5 and open your project again, and verify if the preview issue is now resolved.
PS: the 'Preview' and 'Upload' folders should be inside the 'WebSite X5 v9 - Evolution' folder - but bear in mind you need to look in your 'Documents' as opposed to your 'Program Files'

After deleting the folders Preview and Upload from main Documents/.. folder,
I got the msg as shown in the Attachment. After reclicking the Project involved, the folders were recreated by X5, with same results.
Can you try creating a new project and then opening the preview... does everything display correctly in that instance? If so, then it looks like your X5 project file has somehow become corrupted. However, your backup should be safe (backup.iwprj) - you could try restoring from the backup as described in the help files.
However, I would make one or two backups of both your project file (project.iwprj) and the backup file itself before going any further.
This is what I would do, personally:
Reboot your PC... reapply the 9.1.12.1975 update... close X5 and reboot PC again... open X5 and restore from the backup.iwprj, following the help files carefully, and making sure not to lose the original backup.iwprj file in the process.

Paul,
Even a total new (test) project gives the same results. I created a new one, using the first template Abstract 3D and it shows up like the current attachment.
So I don't think there's something wrong with the older project or project folder.
Besides that, I have exactly the same problem on another PC, to which I exported the project involved. Unfortunately I ran also on that computer the update.
Eveything in the handling/updating from any project works fine and seems OK, only the Preview/Upload-generation gives the problem.

Paul,
For further investigation, I installed the basic supplied installation download (V :9.0.6.1775) on a third system, in this case Windows/XP. After start up on that PC I could create a preview file without any problem. After that I ran the update to 9.1.12.1975 on that Win/XP system, and again : no problems with preview (not with a new project and also not with an older project).
So what I did was : removed X5 from my Win7 problem-system , even removed the Website X5 directory from Program Files(x86), rebooted the system, re-installed the basic X5 product , and ... even without an update to 9.1.12.1975 the preview-problem was back !!
Could it be that something in the Windows Registry is responsable for the problem?
I honestly don't know, Dirk, as I don't have sufficient knowledge of the X5 workings to answer you with any certainty. I would look for an official answer from Claudio or someone else on the Incomedia team.
It's certainly a curious issue... and I agree it looks like something is corrupt somewhere, perhaps in the registry... if you could be sure of removing all traces of previous X5 installs and then reinstalling then the problem should be gone like you say.
I don't know what's happened to your Win7 system, but I would suggest a few other things to try...
Make sure all Win7 updates are applied... install X5 again, then use a proper uninstaller program to remove it (e.g. Revo Uninstaller, Advanced Uninstaller Pro)... then run a good registry cleaner, reboot, and try installing X5 once more.
Hello Dirk,
Did you update Internet Explorer to Version 10 in Windows 7 and you have also Dreamweaver Version 8 installed on your computer?
Usually this happens because Dreamweaver 8, which is an old version, changes the settings of IE 10 and so it will not work correctly, and for the preview the program uses the installed Version of IE. The bes solution would be to remove dreamweaver 8 and use an updated version of this program, since this is not working correctly with Internet Explorer 10.
Many thanks!

Hello Claudio,
Just before I received your previous post, I detected, that when I directly opened the index.html file from the Preview-subdir in the X5 projects-dir, the preview was correct !!
And indeed, I do have Win7, IE10 and Dreamweaver 8.
Thanks for the final solution
Dirk
