When uploading my website. I get the message that says: Error in folder creation, please try again I tried several times but I still get the message. What should I do. I have a purchased software "

Hi Dem,

A few things you can do:

  • Make sure you have installed WebSite X5 as an 'Administrator' and are running the program as an 'Administrator'  (see this issue...  http://answers.websitex5.com/post/51872)
  • Check that you are attempting to upload into the correct space on your server, often within a folder called 'public_html' or similar  -  if your FTP details are wrong and your default upload folder is not within the 'public' area then X5 won't be able to gain access
  • In Step 5 - Website Export to Internet ensure that any destination folder you have specified in 'Optional parameters' actually exists on your server  -  you can use an FTP program to check the directory structure on your server (e.g. FileZilla)
  • Check the CHMOD file and folder permissions on your server.  You can usually do this from your webhost control panel, or again you could use an FTP program, or contact your webhost direct.  Website X5 needs 'permission' from the server to create folders and write files to those folders
