Hi Again, I followed your advise Paul about downloading the updated version of X5 Evolution 10 having had repeated problems updating the conventional way - it made more sense than trying to shutdown Firewall etc. In any event I completed the download and tried to re-install and within a second or two another problem arose preventing me from installing: It said "an error occurred while trying to replace the existing file. DeleteFile failed; Code 5. Access is denied etc etc." I was attempting to install over the previous version as you said and that was the result. Should I wipe the old version completely and try again? Alan

Problem solved. The part I failed to do was reboot before re-installing - so Paul you were bang on. Thanks again.
