I have just moved to a linux server and now my V9X5 email forms don't work. Is there a way to make them work on linux?

Hello Michael,

The email forms will work on Linux servers so that won't be the cause of your issue.

What's more likely is that having changed servers you now need to change form script type and/or data submission type to suit the characteristics of your new server.

To do this go to the 'Preferences' tab which is located on the left-hand side of the very first screen which appears when you open the WebSite X5 program.  At the bottom of the pop-up 'Preferences' screen you will see two drop-down menus, from which you can alter each setting.

Your webhost will be able to advise you which settings to use.  However, you might simply decide to use a process of trial and error, and send a few test messages to an email address of your choice.

Also, bear in mind that the Email Form Object uses PHP.  This must be available on your new server or else the forms will not function.

Let us know how you get on.

Best regards,

Paul

I have set it to standard script, send as post and in my first trial it worked in both directions, i.e. the sender received acknowledgement and the form details arrived where they should.  I then remade the form in its entirety, since when only the form details are being sent (which is good, because that's the most important bit), there is no confirmation email being sent to the sender.

On the email I receive, there are some unnecessary text entries, content-type and all data followed by =OD.  (See below)  Can this be changed?

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable =0D Web enquiry.

Name: Test 11=0D

Telephone number: Test 11=0D

Your email address:***=0DCompany name and address: Tewst 11=0D Your enquiry: Test 11=0D Your country: UK=0D If other, please state country here: =0D =0D =0D

Further to the above, I tried using a different sender email address and that worked, but the formating is as follows, how do get rid of the unnecessary additions?

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable =0D Thank you for your enquiry.  We will respond as soon as possible.=0D =0D

Hello Michael,

Can you please try also to use the low level script to see if this is sending the additional informations?

Many thanks!
