The update For websiteX5 Evolution stops on my windows 8 pc. I got error message 406 and the advice to close other runnig programs does that include the virus scanner?
Did have adjusted the firewall for update websiteX5.

Yes, in some situations the virus scanner can interfere with the download. So it's best to try temporarily switching it off, along with any hardware/software firewall.
Also consider the fact that if you are connecting through a proxy server then this might also hinder the download.
If you continue to experience difficulty then it might be easiest to download the full, latest release from here:
http://answers.websitex5.com/profile/downloads
Once the download is complete right-click on the setup file and select 'Run as administrator' (make sure WebSite X5 is closed first... even better to reboot your PC). This will install the new version directly over the old... there is no need to uninstall the old version first.
