Add hidden pages to footer menu  en

Hello, I'm trying to show hidden pages (Legal Terms and Privacy Policy) on the footer menu but can't find a way to do this (even though I've checked under page properties for these to be included in the sitemap).  I don't want these pages to show anywhere else - they're just disclaimers for people to click on if they choose to do so.  I think these disclaimers do need to be publicly visible though as opposed to having click-links within another page.  Thanks!

Orla

Hello Orla,

I understand what you are trying to do  -  I put similar links in the footer on my own sites.

It's not possible to include a hidden page in the Footer Menu in WebSite X5 (the Footer Menu simply mirrors the contents of the Main Menu)

The way I usually achieve this is to edit the Footer in the template editor, manually creating the links to each page in a small font at the base of the footer (Edit Graphic Template - Step 1 General Settings).  If you match the colours to the surrounding area then it's possible to make the links blend in quite nicely.

You can add links to hidden pages using this technique...  the pages don't necessarily need to be otherwise visible.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks so much Paul Smile- that's really helpful and it worked!  Just to note, when I tried to use webpage links to hidden pages that were part of the main menu the links did not work.  I moved these pages under the "Contact Us" level and then hid them there and the links work perfectly.  Think this is a small enhancement area for Incomedia for future releases as these pages are usually hidden and usually accessible within the sitemap menu.

Take care,

Orla

I agree that would be a useful addition to the software, Orla.  If you could take the time to open an 'Idea' post to that effect then it would help the developers keep track of your request.

All the best,

Paul
