Hello,

Everytime users have updated/changed the published pages online, am I able to backup all of their changes and save it as the original project file created in WX5?  If so, how?

Thanks,

Sam

Sam, you mean geustbook and Blog items?

They are stored in the file you setup when you made them. The posts are placed on your webhosting server in the map you setup in x5.

If you need to back them up you have to copy them with an ftp program (fillezilla) to your hard drive from your webhosting.

Let me know if this works or if you need more information.

Hello,

Thanks, Andre.

I was referring to WX5 Professional 10 feature where it says you/users can update your pages online.

When users [clients] updates the published webpages online, can I [website creator] download all those changes into my WX5 professional 10 project file as updates?  If so, how?

Thanks again,

Sam

With the pro version you need to create a special page for dynamic content. Inside this page you can edit / place text and upload pictures from internet.

This works the same as an guestbook or blog, the data is stored in a webserver map with wrights for all.

So no, these changes are not downloadable.

But you can copy them as already stated with blog and guestbook map.

Let me know if you need more info.

Andre,

Will this feature "dynamic content" only allow you to add/edit contents only on that page and object?  Will this feature allow you to edit all of your pages, hidden included?

What I wanted to do is allow user to edit, add contents to any or all of the pages.  What I had in mind is to finish the project, publish it and now the client/user is free to make any changes in its contents.  Can this be done in pro 10?

Thanks,

Sam

No this can't be done that way.

It's a special page not a text page. Let me be more clear.

If you use a standard text page you can not make this page to be ediitted by users, the only way to change this is with X5.

You can create a special page (dynamic content page) that is changeble by user. You can not add or put text in that page with x5, only remotly after logging in.

I say page but it's a part or a page, it's made the same way as geustbook or table or picture or text place in page 3 of website x5. So you can use a text block on your page (that can not be editted by users) and you can make a dynamic content part next to the text part. In the dynamic page only can users place tekst and edit this.

Hope it's clear if not let me know !
