Hidden pages visible in sitemap menu

It would be very useful to have hidden 'housekeeping' pages such as Privacy Policy and Legal Terms hidden as pages but visible in the sitemap menu rather than manually having to create links in the footer which match the look and feel of the sitemap menu. Thanks! Orla

Extension to Orla's suggestion: I need to have pages that are "work in progress". I need them to be part of the Site Map but do not wish to upload them or to have them visible when online.
How can I hide pages?

Pages which are not uploaded cannot be in the sitemap since then the link from the sitemap would be a wrong link since the page is not present and this is not good since then the search engines will not find it.
To Hide the pages you need to go in step 2 and then select the page and click in the menu bar "page not visible in the menu".
