Proper naming of database

Hello,
Do any one have suggestions and guidelines to share when naming databases you create?
Is there a 'standard' format or proper way to name them?
Like in Auto registration for example, I just do not want to create a database and just name it. I would like to avoid any future conflict in naming later if I have to add more databases in the future.
Any characters not allowed to use?

Hello Sam,
If you stick to lower case letters and underscores (where desired) then you shouldn't encounter any problems. The shorter (and clearer) the better, in my humble opinion.
Use the same priniciple when naming tables.
Note that in the case of the user registration WebSite X5 will name the columns in the table automatically.
