Yes, WebSite X5 works very well with MySQL, and has some support already built-in.
You can implement user registration using the Evolution version. However, the registration will be manual only. If you require fully automated registration, where a user signs up and is immediately granted access to your website, then you need to opt for the Professional version.
The Email Form Object in both versions can write data to a MySQL database very easily indeed. You need to specify only the database name, table name, and column names.
