VAT prices in Product List Object  en

NetShop in WebSiteX5 is not good enough. Why can't I display prices excluding VAT? None display prices including VAT! There should at least be a choice that allows user to show prices exclusive or inclusive VAT.

This is too bad!

Sorry... have you seen that there is a VAT option in the last tab of the e-commerce settings at Step 4. Let me know if this solve  your question...Wink

Maybe I am unclear, but I want prices on my e-commerce to be shown exclusive VAT and including VAT in Step 2.

Hello Bjorn, well.. there are 2 ways to show the products on your website:

  1. using the Product List Object
  2. create the content manually

If you use the way 1, then the price will be shown in the same way: in the Product List Object and in the cart page, with or without VAT. In this way the user will see the same price in both places (the page and the cart).

If you want you can use the way 2 and simply enter an image and a text with the price you want.

I remind you that I'm quite sure that there is a EU law that says that all the e-commerce websites must show the price including VAT in every page. Please check that Wink

Hope this could help you.

Hello  Bjorn,

Yes, you can choose to use the way 1 or 2 and mix it with the VAT option as I suggested before.

Hello Bjorn, I confirm you that you can do as you requested adding a link to the product you want to add in the cart and not use the Product List Object. You can find this link in the Link Dialog Windows, it is the last one.

In this way you can let the visitor view the price without VAT and view the VAT only when the product is added to the cart.

Creating the content manually is not possible when you have a lot of items. In V8 it works fine. I manage all the items and prices in a database which I would like to export and to import in v9 like I did in V8 and show the price without VAT. Only in step 2 you have to add the VAT. A lot of people need a solution quickly because otherwise we can't use V9

Hi Huveneers, sorry but I'm not sure to have understood. V8 and v9 works in the same way. In v9 you can also set a different VAT for a single product...Undecided

In this post we are talking about the possibility to show the price without VAT in the website and including VAT in the cart page. Let me know what do you mean, thanks.

No, it doesn't work in the same way.

In V8 it shows the price without VAT and when you go to the cart, click next, fill in your name.... and when you then click next,  the VAT is calculating.....

I have the same problem.

For B2C it's OK to show the price including VAT, but in B2B you'll need the price without VAT in step 1. Only in step 2 the VAT should be added for correct accounting.

Addendum: I have the same problem.

I think it's the only correct way for an e-commerce application, all other solutions are wrong.

Because in B2B nobody is intrested on VAT.  VAT is an pass through position.
In Austria the B2B prices everytime shown without VAT. It's an usance / usage of trade.
On all B2B web-shops I know,  you get shown prices excluding VAT on the product listing and for the accounting you get prices incl. VAT. In other case the calculated prices for the paymentsystem are wrong.Cry

It's  partially correct to say " .. there is a EU law that says that all the e-commerce websites must show the price including VAT in every page.", but only for consumer-prices (B2C).

I see. I supposed that the EU law was for all. Anyway because this is an option, the best way should be to have an option in the Product Cart Object, so anyone will be free to choose to show or not the prices with or without VAT included. I'll set his as an IDEA and I'll let you know when I will have some news about that. Wink

Hello  Bjorn,  I have the same problem, did you find any solution? Editing code or something? I would like to finish my website and I can't because of this HUGE LEGAL PROBLEM. I opened a ticket and the answer I had was ..."sorry but it isn't possible" Please let me know if someone have a temporal solution at least. Thanks!
