Unfortunately the Register button cannot be hidden but they wont be registered automatically. You have to set up a page where they have to be reidrected if the choose to register and in this page you need to add a form that they need to fill up to register which will be first sent to you and you need to abilitate them.

I have a private page. The password mechanism works well. Thank you.

But I do not want people to be able to register. I want to restrict access to members who already have a username and password. How do I hide the register button please?

Thanks Claudio. That is the work round I have adopted. If they click the register button they go to a page that says they cannot register. The private pages are only available to members of our consortium and I do not want casual visitors being able even to apply for registration. I have also put the log in link on a discrete osition on the site - most people will not see it.

It is not completely satisfactory as it may anoy some casual visitors; but it does the job. Perhaps you could put it on your wish list?
