File Export Issue  en

I have a website which I built on Website X5 Evolution. I recently had to download a new copy of the programme when my PC crashed. I have reloaded the website onto the programme and then yesterday tried to upload some changes. Got a message saying 'Error in file export. Check if writing inside the specified folder is allowed.' I wondered if perhaps the antivirus settings were too high on the PC, so I moved everything onto a laptop but am getting the same message. I have now had the lady whose website this is on to me complaining that pages on her site are now blank! I need to rectify this asap. Any assistance much appreciated ~ don't make it too complicated, I am not computer savvy (treat me as if I was an idiot, I don't mind lol)

Hello Pamela,

Can you please tell me what version of WebSite X5 are you using and also send me a screenshot of the program with the error message to see it?

Many thanks!

Not sure what version it is, but must be quite an old one as I have had it since 2008. I have been out of the country for a week. I attach a screen shot.

Meant to say I have been out of the country for a week, hence the delay in replying.

Hello Pamela,

Thank you for the screenshot. Did you try to activate the passive ftp to see if then it works?

On the computer where you are using the program do you have Internet Explorer Version 11 installed?

If yes you need to uninstall Internet Explorer 11 and install Version 10 since IE11 has a bug which causes this issue.

Many thanks!

Activating FTP and reinstalling Version 10 of IE seems to have rectified the problem. Thank you for your attention.
