Downloadable excel Spreadsheet

I need to have a downloadable (functional) excel spreadsheet accessible from my website for those approved in access management. Can anyone suggest how this can be done. A pdf conversion is out as it would not be functional. Using something like drop box Google drive etc is also out as people would have to be signed up to those. Could I manually upload the file to the website via ftp then somehow link to it? if so in simple terms how? any help gratefully received.

This file needs to be edited only be everyone or you want only to be downloaded after the login?
If you wat to make it downloadable then you can use the link function in the text object and then select "file or URL" and then select the excel file you want to add.
If it's already online then you can write directly the link to it.

Many thanks. I have just tryed this. The problem was/is It does not show in the preview mode like pdf's that load or word docs that show a download location. In preview I just get a white box for excel spreadsheets bit it does show once loaded online.
